Thousands of jobs to open up to next year February as Cyprus opens its doors for skilled Filipino workers.

More than a thousand jobs are awaiting Filipino skilled workers in Cyprus. This will depend largely if the global economic condition would improve next year.

This was the assessment given by Cypriot recruiters who are eyeing Filipino workers for two huge marina projects in Limassol and Larnaca starting February.

Among the workers needed are

• electricians
• chefs
• concrete finishers
• manicurists
• and labor workers.

There are about 12,000 overseas Filipino workers in Cyprus, 90 percent of whom are household helpers.

Cyprus is one of the European Union countries that was not directly hit by the financial crunch.
