Job Description:

Training managers organise and manage their organisations training department within a budget. They develop training plans, which may cover using computers, customer service, health and safety and management training, as well as training specific to individual jobs. They ensure their staff have the skills to work to the best of their ability. To do this they establish what the training and personal development needs are for all levels, which may include people straight from school, craftspeople, new graduates and managers.

The role involves a mixture of planning, organising and carrying out training. They assess the success of the training programme and keep up-to-date with training trends and developments.

Qualifications:

Skills and Interests

interested in helping people develop,able to relate to staff at all levels,have excellent communication skills, good at organising events such as workshops or courses, able to plan ahead and manage time,good at encouraging and motivating people,good at influencing and negotiating, skilled at writing reports and keeping records, including accounts and budget information

have good computer skills.

Entry

There are no set requirements, although we expect you to have either several GCSEs (A-C)/S grades (1-3) a BTEC/SQA or an Intermediate GNVQ/GSVQ Level II. Previous experience of teaching, personnel, supervisory or management work would be useful.
